TV Shows for October

‘Designated Survivor’ returned at the end of September for its second series. Episodes will be released on Netflix each week, following its broadcast in the US. This series, starring Kiefer Sutherland, is in the political genre.

The eagerly-anticipated second series of ‘Stranger Things’ will begin. After a critically-acclaimed first season, the gang will get back together again, with Netflix releasing the second season on Halloween. Winona Ryder is among those to return.

‘Mindhunter’ is a brand-new series coming to Netflix this October. This show is set in the 1970s and will follow two agents who study serial killers – helping them to apply what they learn to ongoing cases. The show will debut in Mid-October.

‘Dynasty’ is set to debut this month and could be worth watching. This is a remake from the American soap in the 1980s. It is a drama about the family of a wealthy oil tycoon. The show has a formidable cast appearing. Episodes will be released every Thursday.

‘Riverdale’ – the show we all hate to love will return for Series 2. The adventures of Veronica and Archie et al will reach our screens each Thursday. KJ Apa and Camila Mendes are among those to star in this high-school drama.

Three Films to Watch

‘It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World’ is a cult favourite released back in 1963. The film follows a group of strange and unconventional men racing to collect $350,000 in cash. This was esteemed Director Quentin Tarantino’s favourite film growing up. Over 60 celebrity cameos also take place!

‘American Sniper’ is another well-known film set to appear on Netflix. Based on the true story of Chris Kyle – the US Navy Seal, the film secured critical acclaim. Clint Eastwood directs the film, with Bradley Cooper starring as Kyle.

The ‘Meyerowitz Stories’ will hit Netflix on October 13. Adam Sandler, Dustin Hoffman and Ben Stiller are among those to appear in the film – which impressed at the Cannes Film Festival. The film follows three generations of a Jewish family.

Classic Show to Binge-Watch for October

The selection for this month is ‘Dexter’. With eight seasons and ninety-six episodes, it is surely a longer watch than just one month! With Michael C. Hall spearheading a fantastic cast, the show follows Dexter – a blood spatter analyst at Miami Metro Homicide, in his adventures. The show features numerous gripping storylines, and raises the constant question with its audience – should I or shouldn’t I be rooting for Dexter?!

Happy binge-watching for the month ahead!
