1.  Explore the Campus

Where else to begin?! We’re lucky to have a beautiful campus, with green space in abundance. There are a diverse range of buildings, both old and new. King’s College and the library are particular highlights. The beauty of the campus makes those 9am starts that little bit more bearable!

2. Utilise the Student’s Union

The University of Aberdeen’s Student’s Union is well worth engaging with. You can join societies and take part in activities. Both of these are excellent ways of making new friends – which always helps at University! The SU is also very useful for anything advice-related, should you need it.

3. Enjoy the Nightlife!

We aren’t let down when it comes to a great nightlife in Aberdeen. Regardless of your taste, there is something for everyone. Nightclubs that are popular with student’s include Nox, while Orchid and Paramount are always fun too! There are a range of pubs too, if that is more your thing! Either way, it’s well worth experiencing!

4. Learn About Different Cultures

We’re lucky to have such a diverse range of nationalities at our University. Getting to know student’s from other countries is always an interesting experience – and certainly recommended. Wherever possible, you could also try their cuisine – you might be pleasantly surprised!

5. Try Out the Sport Facilities

The Aberdeen Sports Village really does provide world-class facilities. Not many University’s can boast the facilities seen here! As there are so many sports on offer, you should definitely try and find something that interest’s you here! Try one out, and maybe you can find your speciality!

6. View Aberdeen from Tollohill!

To really take in the full beauty of Aberdeen – go to the top of Tollohill. From here you’ll be able to see Aberdeen in its full beauty. Walking in general is a good idea, and Aberdeen is easy enough to navigate around! Our recommendation though, if you have to pick one – is to go to Tollohill!

7. Seaton Park & Johnston Gardens

Admittedly, year round Seaton Park might not be the best location, but catch it on a good day and good time, and it can be nice. It is well worth visiting in the summer months at least! Johnston Gardens is a really picturesque area of Aberdeen, and can be very peaceful too. Always a good break from work!

8. Go To ‘The Hub’

Whatever the occasion, whatever food you’re feeling like – The Hub has you covered! There is a huge amount of food offered here, and it is a really good social spot too! You can meet a lot of people there too!

9. Study Hard!

While not as fun as the other areas outlined, it is an important element of University! Make sure you get a good work/life balance. By working hard, you’ll be able to achieve a great result. Our University boasts strong graduate prospects – you can do it!

10. Graduate!

The single most important part of being a student at Aberdeen – graduate! Make sure you get to this day. It’ll be a proud day for you, potentially one you’ll remember for the rest of your life. Hopefully you can complete many of these things in your stay at Aberdeen, and maybe even more!
