Fry Building At Bristol Uni Campus Catches Fire

A large fire, which has since been contained, broke out at the Fry Building, located at the campus of the University of Bristol earlier today. While there was initially panic at the University, including numerous building evacuations, now, the fire was eventually stopped. At this current point in time, the cause of the fire is unknown. The Fry Building is currently undergoing renovation. The Bristol University Twitter account kept the world up to date during the fire, providing a timeline, as we see below…

The University library, packed with students already, was evacuated as a precautionary measure, and subsequently closed for the evening. Crucial exams begin on Monday for Bristol students, and therefore the library closure comes at a frustrating time.

Eventually the fire was extinguished, with everyone being accounted for – which is the most important area.

The University then confirmed its intention to investigate the cause of the fire in the Fry Building, in conjunction with Avon Fire Rescue. Hopefully, any possible flaws will be addressed to ensure a repeat event doesn’t happen.
