Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn received a rapturous ovation at Coventry University, with students turning out in their droves to welcome the politician to the campus yesterday. Corbyn was visiting Coventry, where he outlined his political party’s post-Brexit strategy. During the day, he followed in the footsteps of Prince William and Kate by touring the new Science and Health building. Corbyn proved very popular with the crowd at the event. Corbyn hit the headlines for supporting a customs union in the aftermath of Brexit. Corbyn also assured the wider Coventry community that his plans for post-Brexit would be positive for the city. This is despite the fact that Coventry as a city actually voted in favour of Brexit. As seen below, there was a big turnout for Corbyn.
At one point, Corbyn was asked if he would ‘hurry up and be our Prime Minister’. As you might expect, this question delighted many.
