Aston University is a University located in the centre of Birmingham, England. The institution was established in 1895, before eventually being granted status as a University in 1966. There are approximately 16,000 students at the University, which is based on a small campus. The University is well-renowned for pioneering the placement year. Around 70% of students at the University take a placement year, the highest proportion in the year. This concept has been repeated by countless other Universities.
